Damaged, not broken

Damaged, not broken
She needs time and care to heal
All she needs, someone to embrace her
To let the tears flow until they end
For the bruised child she carries in

Then, let the tears become rain
And fertilize a barren soil
Forgiveness. Peace. Strenght.
And the child can raise and laugh again

Pills may be many colors, none the right
What she needs can be found between two arms
Maybe in your hand, maybe in your heart
Patience to help her grow, she's not that old

Open the door of the darkened room
See her on the corner, coiled, alone
She's so tiny, cold and afraid
She's terrorized of making mistakes

Someone once told her she could be loved
For being herself, not having to give all in turn
But now she lives again in the house of lies
And she's scared for the walls are about
To fall over her mind

And the darkness, and the silence
No one can hear her cries
But she's damaged, not broken
And somewhere someone can help this child
